Acer palmatum 'Sumi Nagashi' emerges in the spring with deeply divided, purple leaves. In the summer, it typically ages to a rustic bronze color with reticulated green veins. In the fall it transforms into a stunning bright red. An upright grower and reaching 10' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. A great year round interest maple and more suited for the larger garden.
Acer palmatum 'Sumi Nagashi' was introduced in Japan in the 1930's.
