Acer palmatum 'Hubb's Red Willow' is a very unique maple with very long narrow leaf lobes that are reminiscent of bamboo leaves. Willowly spring foliage emerges with bright red colors. It darkens to a green and maroon into the summer and transitions to a brilliant red in the fall. It is one of the few linearilobum groups that can tolerate full sun. 'Hubb's Red Willow' is an upright grower that can grow to 8' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. A nice choice to bring that Asian inspired bamboo like tree into the garden.
Acer palmatum 'Hubb's Red Willow' was discovered at Red Maple Nursery in Pennsylvania, USA.
