Acer palmatum 'Beni Kumo No Su' is a dwarf maple that has very fine dissected leaves. Leaves emerge a bright red in the spring and darken into the summer. Fall leaf colors are a nice red. The unique fine leaves make a stunning statement alone. 'Aratama' forms low growing shrub and will grow to 2' tall x 3' wide in 10 years. It's small size makes it well suited for an ornamental planter or smaller garden landscape.
Acer palmatum 'Beni Kumo No Su' was introduced by Del's Japanese Maple Nursery in Oregon, USA. 'Beni Kumo No Su' means 'red spider web' in Japanese and may sometimes be sold under this name.
