Acer palmatum 'Beni Hoshi' is sometimes referred to as 'Ruby Stars' (as translated from Japanese). In the spring, bright red star shaped leaves emerge with bright green veins. The leaves then ages to ruby red into the summer. A brilliant orange and yellow take over on the arrival of autumn. 'Beni Hoshi' is a dwarf, upright shrub and reaching 3' tall x 1.5' wide in 10 years. This Japanese maple has great leaf form and structure. A perfect choice for planters or the small garden.
