Phyllostachys edulis 'Bicolor'

This variation of Phyllostachy edulis has yellow culms with alternating green striping. Similar to the orignial form, the culms are covered in a fine velvety hair and has small delicate leaves.
Phyllostachys edulis 'Bicolor' does not reach the enormous proportions of it's original form nor is it as cold hardy. Difficult to establish but once established, this bamboo is one of the most elegant and ornamental.
