Acer palmatum 'Olsen's Frosted Strawberry' emerges with strawberry colored leaves with silvery white 'frosted' undertones. The foliage is reticulated with burgundy veins that run throughout the leaves. As summer approaches, the pink and red leaves slowly transform to reticulated greens. Fall colors are various tones of orange and fiery red. 'Olsen's Frosted Strawberry' exhibits slow growth with a weeping habit. Reaches 6' tall x 8' wide in 10 years. An amazing spring time, pink colored Japanese maple but also has year round interest. Due to it's cascading, weeping habit, it is better suited for a bigger garden.
Acer palmatum 'Olsen's Frosted Strawberry' was discovered as a seedling from a 'Aka Shigitatsu Sawa' by Harry Olsen.
