Acer palmatum 'Beni Kosode' emerges with bright, glowing pink leaves in the Spring that are like no other. The tiny, delicate leaves then age to green into the summer and transform to a fiery red in the fall. If grown in the shade, the pink color can last for most of the summer. 'Beni Kosode' is a dwarf shrub that is very slow growing and reaches 2' tall x 1' wide in 10 years. Due to it's delicate size, it is sensitive to cold freezes or intense wind chills. It's small size makes it well suited for an ornamental planter or smaller garden landscape.
Acer palmatum 'Beni Kosode' was introduced in Japan in 1978.
