2013 Bamboo Festival at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden

Bamboo Botanicals, in partnership with the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is proud to present the 2013 Bamboo Festival on Saturday, June 29, 2013.
Many ornamental and very rare bamboo plants will be on display throughout the garden. As well, there will be many varieties of rare bamboo plants for sale during the exhibition. Bamboo Botanicals will be on hand to educate and answer any questions you may have about bamboos.
But don't just come down for the bamboos. There are many things to do throughout the garden. Take a stroll through the winding paths and appreciate the architecture of a traditional Chinese garden. Take a guided tour and learn about some Chinese history and culture. Have a cup of authentic Chinese tea, relax and experience the World's Top City Garden as voted by National Geographic in their new book, Secret Journey of A Lifetime.
Other activities during the Bamboo Festival include:
- Brush work! Learn how to paint a picture of bamboo through traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy
- Haiku Workshop – Join Vancouver Haiku Group as they create haiku poems based on the experience of being with bamboo. These poems of quiet contemplation are sure to inspire.
- Bamboo Music – Come hear the beautiful music of the bamboo flute.
